Breast Pump Makes Me a Happier Person

And so after being frustrated and upset for 2 days, SS found me a buyer that's letting her duo pump for a ridiculously reasonable price
I was concerned about the condition of the pump - but when i saw it, i knew it was a FANTASTIC deal.
And so, after 2 1/2 days of lesser milk and longer pumps i'm back to being efficient
But not without my supply being affected - and thats the biggest worry i had when my trusty pumps failed on me
So now im back to trying to rebuild up my supply
and at a stage whereby my yields are lesser than what's she's drinking on a daily basis
so i'm back to digging into my reserves (hadn't much opportunity to do it other than the 1 occasion whereby i was sick and had no milk)
So SS says 'this is where the 30litres of frozen EBM come to good use)

Yes you saw right. - i have slightly over 30 litres of frozen EBM in my freezer
(i should take a picture of it one day)
So i basically, or Stevlynn & I, occupies 1 full freezer by ourselves

So my parents have a tip/secret recipe to help me boost my depleting supply or when days i am stressed to a point that my supply's affected
Im sharing it hoping this will help other mummies.
Please you have to beware - fishy smell (that you'll need to overcome, and trust me it gets better each time u drink it)

Ingredients:
- 3 or 4 x Kuning Fish (Those small fish that nasi lemak has deep fried)
- Slices of Ginger; amount depending on you (if you are afraid of the fishy smell/taste, you can put more)
- Water

Preparation:
- Wash the fish
- slice the ginger with skin

How to:
Dump all the ingredients into a pot and boil.
My dad uses a pressure cooker so he cooks it for an hour. but if you do not use a pressure cooker, you may need to cook longer
Boil until the fish meat breaks down
Use a filter to filter out the broken down fish meat and ginger
Drink the soup.

I see the effects of it overnight. I take it right before i go to bed, and wake up the next morning to pump (that's usually a 4 to 5 hour interval)
I can get between 380ML to 450ML of milk (comparing to 210 to 350ML)
If you have time, drink it 3x a day for a period of 2 days and you will see improvements
It works for me, try it!

Mental Note to Myself: Re-introduce the morning latch session (i dropped that cuz we were always waking her up to drink rather than cuz she wants to drink) but i feel my supply's also slightly affected as i drop 1 latch on session.

Okay, enough talk about MILK

Stevlynn's now beginning to learn how to crawl, lifting her butt off the bed and on her knees trying to push herself forward.
That makes her look like a rocking horse at times :D
But as Grandparents YEN says - She's lazy and impatient. Prefers to sit rather than on the tummy time to learn how to crawl
So guessing she's going take awhile more before she gains any form of independence or mobility
But im guessing when she does, she will LURVE it!

Stevlynn has also tried a variety of food and has started on porridge.
To give her a variety, we do alternate days for cereal and porridge and different types of 'flavours' to keep her continually excited when it comes to meal times.
So far it's been doing great!

Foods She's Tried:
- ButterNut Squah
- Carrot
- Pumpkin
- Spinach (But failed, she hated it. Gotta try again at a later stage)
- Apple
- Avocado
- Potato
- Sweet Potato
- Peas
- Broccoli
- Pears
- Plums
- Banana
- Healthy Times Brown Rice Cereal
- Healthy Times OatMeal Cereal
- Earth's Best Brown Rice Cereal
- Bellamy's Brown Rice Cereal
- Plan White Porridge (Own Cooked)
- Happy Baby Banana Puffs
- Bellamy's ToothPegs
- Pigeon Seaweed Biscuits

I admit I've been lazy recently and have not introduced new foods to her.
Been too overwhelmed at work until there are times i wana say THAT'S IT that i barely have energy to go home and look after her.
I'll need to start at looking at what's next on her menu

Mental Note: Start a Weekly Meal Planner for her
