So I finally have time to have a proper post. It's been a hectic week since I got back from the holiday.
So her PD told us to hold off the cereal until Stevlynn either shows extreme interest in us eating or when she hit 6 months.
But during the trip, she was so keen on us eating that she would even mimic the way our mouths moved.
So we tested with an empty spoon and I personally expected her to thrust her tongue out to push the spoon out but i was wrong.
so Granddaddy YEN gave her a teaspoonful of porridge - and she finished it.
So when we came back from our trip, i made a trip to buy her Healthy Times Organic Brown Rice.
Being a 1st time mummy, i didn't know what to expect so when i saw flakes of brown rice i went 'ERM?'
Then my girlfriend told me it's normal they cook it, grind it then dry it ma - how dumb can i get :p
And i dug out all the combi feeding set which i got for her (finally we progressed!)
So back to her first feed - 2 teaspoons with 30ML of milk. It was kinda watery but i wanted more of her to try the texture out.
She finished every bit of it and wanted more - in fact she loved it so much that she was smiling as we were feeding her.
To 'train' her for meal times in future, i decided to give her cereal for her 12ish & 6ish feeds and then followed by milk.
So she progressed from 2 teaspoons to 4 teaspoons and with the consistency being slightly thicker after she got used to it.
So now her regular cereal times are 12-ish & 6-ish and she looks forward to it every single meal.
When you take out her bowl to prepare her cereal, she knows 'mum mum' is coming and will stare intently at her bowl and check from time to time if her cereal's ready.
We've been feeding her on her bumbo seat - i think it's time to buy her a pretty high chair.
