Jabs, Wailing, Grouchiness & Sleepiness
Stevlynn went for her 6-in-1 and rotavirus vaccines today; her first that i witness.
I've been hearing terror stories of how bad the fever can be after jabs, how babies can cry non-stop and become EXTREMELY fussy and all the scary things that babies can do and i've been dreading this day...
By the time it was time for her jab, i have yet to muster enough courage to hold her, thus grandma has to 'do the job'
But our brave lil princess only wailed for a short while when they were injecting her and stopped shortly after.
With tears in her eyes and her still whimpering, she looked at me as though in a grieving way and started coo-ing sadly to me as though to complain that the nurses bullied her whilst her granny was their 'partner-in-crime'
She slept through most of the day, only stirring in her sleep; so unlike her when she's quite awake and lively in the day.
She was moody and we didn't have any smiles from her today (a first for us)
By evening her low grade fever kicked in and was wanting us to cuddle her.
My main concern is her not feeding well; hopefully tomorrow will be a better day :)
Her reaction to the jab wasn't half as bad as i had expected it to be, sleeping through most of it. She's officially daddy's brave girl now :)
A couple at KKH approached me and asked where and how much was my stroller with the car seat. (maxi cosi with Quinny Zapp - i can only manage the small stroller by myself, the Buzz's still a challenge to me) and when they heard the prices, the husband's jaw fell right to the floor and the wife's disappointment quickly showed.
When i think back, it is a hefty price to pay for a stroller system and was i glad that SS's not the type to stop me from splurging on the baby. In fact he was the one who insisted we got the strollers we are comfortable with, which in our case was 2 different strollers meeting both our needs :)
