Bringing Baby Out - Learnings of 1st Time Parents

Before Stevlynn was born, we decided that we will become parents who would like to bring her out with us as often as we can to expose her to noise, surroundings and new people. And of course, another reason was that we wanted her with us in whatever spare time we have and to be part of our activities. It was already bad enough that we are both full time working parents with minimal or no time during the weekdays, we wanted to 'maximize' our time with her whenever we can. WIth that in mind, SS decided that stroller & carrier were 2 important items in our purchases in preparation to welcome her.

We ended up with:
- Quinny Buzz *for him & us trips*
- Quinny Zapp *for me trips*
- Baby Bjorn Synergy Carrier
and i keep lamenting on the amount of $$ we spend on these 3 big dollar value purchases.

But NOW, thinking back, now that Stevlynn's only a month, a week & 5 days old, versus the number of trips she has been out with us, i can predict these items will be well spent :)
She has been out no less than 10 trips with us/grandparents and on occasions for the whole day; with the 'aid' of Christmas shopping being an excuse :)
But of course the going out trips were not all smooth sailing in the beginning - we had to battle her 'discomfort' whilst being in her infant car seat and many variations of 'changing' head-rest, incline positions/angles during which it was endless stops in between walks/places/ just to cuddle her, pacify her and putting her in the carrier before we hit JACKPOT!
You cannot imagine how many times we had to stop before we hit jackpot, walking 1/2 a floor of Marina Square (say from the main atrium to mothercare/kiddy palace) could easily take us 2 hours *phew, i'm glad that's all over*
We made successfully made our going out trips more 'time efficient' once again

Overall, i think she's quite a happy baby nature to start with, and that with us no having any fears of bringing her out or finding it troublesome, she has gotten quite used to the noise, strange environments that she seems trouble-free & confident of being outside (just what we wanted!). She's relatively easy to look after when she's out, not even fussing much for diaper changes or milk feeds. We have come to understand her cues to her needs and she, understanding us as well, knowing that no matter what happens, she can rely on us to 'read' her and she need not 'scream' out what she wants.

Good Job darling girl, keep it up!
